Maricopa Trailblazers 4-H Club has been part of the Maricopa, AZ community for 20 years, evolving and changing each year. We have added many more projects and opportunities for youth to learn and grow. Maricopa Trailblazers  4-H Club is part of the University of Arizona, Cooperative Extension, Pinal County 4-H Program.

Learn by doing.

Leadership

4‑H empowers young people to be true leaders. True leaders are young people who have confidence; know how to work well with others; can endure through challenges; and will stick with a job until it gets done. In 4‑H, we believe true leaders aren’t born – they’re grown.

Friendship

4‑H’s positive youth development programs are available where you need them and welcome children who want to have fun, learn and grow. Members create life long friendships through projects clubs, and community club events.

Life Skills

4‑H’s hands-on approach is proven to grow life skills like confidence, independence, resilience and compassion through stages and developed through experiences, not instruction.

The result? Kids who are empowered with the skills to lead for a lifetime.

Hands-on Learning

More young people need the kind of hands-on, youth-led experiences that 4‑H programs provide. Experiences where they learn by doing, grow from failure, express their ideas and use their influence to drive positive outcomes. Adult mentors provide guidance, ask questions, share learnings and encourage.

Empowering Youth Through 4-H

The 4-H mission is to provide educational opportunities for youth to become contributing members of a global society. 4-H programs are research-based and hands-on, and serve youth ages 5–18 in all 15 counties and 6 Tribal Nations in Arizona.

The four H's in 4-H stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health:

  • Head: Represents the ability to think, plan, and reason

  • Heart: Represents the ability to care for others, develop positive attitudes, and accept citizenship responsibilities

  • Hands: Represents the ability to be helpful, skillful, and useful

  • Health: Represents the ability to enjoy life, practice healthful living, and use leisure time productively
